Side Character in a Romantic Comedy manga - Chapter 18

Episode 18: Sharing Secrets I managed to have a conversation with Kushibiki. I even got my smartphone back, but an unnecessary remark from me angered her, and I was forced to leave. I meant it as a compliment, but maybe it was too blunt? I prefer the genuine Kushibiki over the cutesy one. She seems more human that way. Well, I got to talk to her and got my phone back. The rumors haven’t been resolved at all, but that’s okay. Now it’ll be interesting to see how Kushibiki acts. The next day. There are three days left until Golden Week. Perhaps because we’re about to have a week off, the classroom was unusually lively. I could hear bits of conversation about where to go and plans to stay overnight. For someone like me who doesn’t mind spending time alone, it’s the perfect break. I’ll clean my room, organize my manga and books. I’ll catch up on games I’ve accumulated and go on a shopping spree for manga and light novels. My Golden Week is already filled with solo plans. Sorry about that. A

Episode 17: I’ve Left My Pride Behind! “Thank you! I’m going to frame this and make it my family heirloom!” “You don’t need to go that far! Are you an idiot!?” “I’m fine with being an idiot! Ahh, Azuchi’s autograph. The one and only in the world, written just for me. Muhahaha! Duhuhuhu!!!” “Ew, gross!? Don’t get happy like some creepy old-school otaku! Ugh… I’m starting to feel sick…” Kushibiki is so harsh. Otaku, you see, are people who pursue their hobbies to the extreme and enjoy them. It’s outdated to dismiss such people as creepy and discriminate against them. What’s wrong with saying you like what you like! I think it’s much more radiant to have things and hobbies you love than to spend your days in nothingness. Kushibiki just doesn’t understand yet… Uh, excuse me, Kushibiki? You shouldn’t look at me with such disgust, as if you’re looking at trash—ahaha! “Who would have thought that Azuchi herself would be so close by? What a lucky man I am…” Even though I’m influenced by Tachib

I Became the Villain in a Romantic Comedy — Chapter 15

Chapter 15 - Why are you suddenly acting like this towards me, seriously? (4) The rooftop of Raon High School, following the tradition of youth romantic comedy school dramas, was always open. Honestly, any rom-com that locks the rooftop should face a criminal trial. So many events happen on the rooftop—how could anyone dare seal it off? Creating relationships on the rooftop: the lonely heroine eating alone, overseeing the school festival from above to create a romantic atmosphere, saving the heroine who lacks common sense from falling off the rooftop, and even the traditional saliva exchange scene (or something like that). Indeed, in youth romantic comedies, the rooftop serves a purpose beyond being just a rooftop. It’s practically a sacred place. So why am I stuck dealing with something so grim instead of romantic events? “Well, you see…” “Starting with excuses? Sure, go ahead. I’m listening.” Cigarette-shaped chocolates? Pranks? Holograms? Augmented reality? The more I think about it

Chapter 16 - Counterattack The next day, I left home more than an hour early and headed to school. It wasn’t because I’d gone crazy or suddenly become serious. It was all because of what happened yesterday. The dopamine rush hadn’t stopped, and I hadn’t slept a wink. I couldn’t stay put, so I decided to go to school and calm down. However, the lack of sleep had consequences. Dark circles formed under my eyes, and I felt both tired and nauseous—a double whammy. My overall condition was terrible. School, classes, and tests were all irrelevant. I needed to return Kushibiki’s planner as soon as possible and find out the truth. I’ve made it to school. Despite pedaling my bike with all my might, I’m surprisingly not worn out and feel quite lively. The classroom was empty. I sat in my seat, fiddled with my phone, and wandered around the room. As time passed, classmates started showing up, but Kushibiki was still absent even after the start of homeroom. “Um, Kushibiki is absent due to illness.

Chapter 14 - Why are you suddenly acting like this towards me, seriously? (3) “Hey, Park Ha-eun.” There’s an old saying: “Even a bull’s horns can be removed in an instant.” I found myself in the body of Lee Ji-woon, a guy with a long-standing tradition of being a jerk. I stood in front of Park Ha-eun, determined to change my fate immediately. In reality, after my conversation with Yoon Dong-gun, we had secretly exchanged information during two class sessions. It was our little secret—something we wouldn’t discuss with anyone else. After all, it was just between us. “Ah…! Ji-woon!” “Just, wait a moment!” Park Ha-eun’s tail wagged vigorously (if she had one), and she responded actively to my words.  Why was she so adorable? I almost wanted to separate the head of the creator who bound such a girl with a wheelchair. However, a variable appeared. Who was it again? I couldn’t remember the name. Anyway, this unnamed girl with glasses immediately stood between Park Ha-eun and me. Come on, cal

Chapter 15 - The unimpressive Attacker Should I resist like in a Hollywood movie? It seems I have no choice. There’s no guarantee it will work out as well as in the movies, but it’s better than getting zapped by a stun gun without putting up a fight. I immediately take action. I quickly turn around and aim for the stun gun she’s holding. I grab her right hand, the one with the stun gun, and flail it wildly, managing to knock the stun gun away. She must not have expected me to resist, as she’s caught off guard. I press the attack, pushing her down and reversing our positions. Checkmate. What an anticlimactic end. If this were a movie, there would be a twist or sudden development from here. But there’s no such dramatic turnaround like in fiction. I rip off the mask and knit cap hiding her face. There was some resistance, but being on top means I have the advantage. The mask and knit cap come off, revealing her face… “Kushibiki…? Why are you?” Kushibiki, deciding that further resistance w

Chapter 13 - Why are you suddenly acting like this towards me, seriously? (2) “Oh, damn it, God.” Even I, who usually don’t blindly follow religion, couldn’t help but call upon the Lord in the face of this incredible ordeal. Yoon Dong-gun might have seemed like just an ordinary alpha male(?), but the power he possessed was truly formidable. It wasn’t for simple reasons like being good at fighting or having a lot of money at home. In terms of power, of course, there was no one who could rival the villain Lee Ji-woon, and even in terms of wealth, Lee Ji-woon was probably richer. But fundamentally, Yoon Dong-gun was the protagonist of this visual novel. No matter how ordinary, or even lacking, a character might be, the moment they are labeled as the protagonist, people tend to flip out. Even if he had an abnormal physical appearance of 130cm and 130kg, wouldn’t the heroines find all sorts of reasons to like the protagonist? If he were impotent, there would be platonic love; if he were bli

Chapter 14: Attack?! Even after lunch break ended, Kushibiki did not return. The fifth period began, and the modern literature teacher announced that Kushibiki had left early due to illness and started the class. What on earth happened? Did she suddenly feel unwell? Indeed, Kushibiki was clearly acting strange at lunch. She let out weird shrieks and even ran off with my smartphone. I can’t concentrate in class because I’m worried about where my smartphone is. I don’t understand why I feel withdrawal symptoms just because I don’t have my phone. It might be a sign of how much modern people are dominated by technology, but I’d like to put aside such modern problems and ask Kushibiki to please return my smartphone soon. It’s tough to get in touch without my smartphone. If so, I’ll have to ask Kushibiki herself to return it tomorrow or later. Sigh… well, it’s okay. I can manage with my PC when I get home. School is over, and I’m pondering what to do next. Kushibiki should have my smartphone

I Became the Villain in a Romantic Comedy — Chapter 12

Chapter 12 - Why are you suddenly acting like this towards me, seriously? (1) When Park Ha-eun appeared, I accidentally swallowed the meatball in my mouth without realizing it. It seemed that Ye-ji was just as flustered, as a chopstick she was holding dropped, creating a small noise. “Suddenly?” In fact, it wasn’t sudden. Just yesterday, she had shown interest in spending time with me (though it wasn’t a date request), and this morning, she had even bandaged my wrist, pushing aside a struggling Ye-ji. Park Ha-eun’s arrival wasn’t like a sudden natural disaster. Rather, there had already been many foreshadowing events. So, my legs. Stop trembling embarrassingly, will you? Even though I’m the Golden Sun, when the heroine comes to me on her own, I should be rejoicing with a ‘Hooray~~’ instead of being so tense that I’m clutching my chest (or rather, I wanted to clutch my buttocks). “…Well, if it’s just for a moment.” “Hehe. Thanks, Ji-woon.” I had considered refusing, but it seemed unlike
