Episode 4: It’s not a movie trailer?
<YouTube Channel: 30THC>
A newly created channel with only two uploaded videos so far.
Both videos are fan-made parodies of Korean star Chae Seoyoon’s CFs, edited into mad movies.
└This is the real deal…
└Wow, how much did they burn on CGI costs for this?
└The graphics are even better than ‘that movie’ that supposedly spent 200 million won per second on CGI.
└Is this plagiarized composite work? There’s no way they made this from scratch.
If you were to calculate the cost of this fan video in terms of CGI expenses, how much would it be?
Who are they?
An individual or a group?
Despite the speculation, there was one thing viewers unanimously agreed on:
└30THC is a true Chae Seoyoon fan.
└This would cost at least billions of won.
└This level of dedication is puremadness.
The first video was nearing 10 million views.
The second had just passed 2 million views.
└In terms of quality, the second video is leagues ahead of the first, but the editing style is too similar, so people lose interest halfway.
└I thought it was great, though.
└The second one definitely had more effort put into it.
└I’m working in the CGI industry, and I’m in despair right now. A fan video has turned the CGI we worked on for months, pouring billions into, into something trivial.
└The third video is out. Why are you still here instead of watching it?
└What third video? There are only two.
└It’s on Pine Tree’s official channel. Go check it out now.
└For real?
Viewers rushed to the Pine Tree YouTube channel.
Sure enough, a new video had been uploaded there.

The CF featured Chae Seoyoon and a polar bear.
[Creative by 30THC]
Chae Seoyoon, dressed in a bright spring dress, appears as if she’s on a picnic.
She hugs, rolls around with, and even rides a massive polar bear, having fun.
The grand, majestic glaciers.
The sun dazzling across the horizon.
Though there’s no dialogue, only a gentle background melody, The stunning visuals captivated the audience.
└The graphics are insane…
└Is all of this CGI? It doesn’t look artificial at all.
└I legit thought they filmed this in the Arctic with a real polar bear;;;
└It’s just… something about it. I can’t describe it, but it stirs something in me…
The polar bear video left a deep impression on fans and viewers.
The visuals were that captivating.
└They’re real fans of Chae Seoyoon. She’d go crazy for polar bears.
└But isn’t that common knowledge you can just Google?
└You must be new here.
└The agency is doing a great job, swiftly collaborating like this.
└But the real genius is 30THC. Didn’t they create this fan video to begin with as part of a marketing strategy?
└How much do you think this polar bear video cost?
└The original polar bear video just went up on 30THC’s channel; go watch it now—it’s insane. (link)
└Original video? Are you saying the one on PineTree’s channel isn’t the original?
Viewers flocked to the 30THC channel.
Indeed, there was a newly uploaded polar bear video, but its thumbnail and runtime were entirely different from the Pine Tree version.
Chae Seoyoon’s outfit and the content were also different.
Wearing a thick Eskimo fur coat, Chae Seoyoon approaches an injured polar bear cub.
As she removes her hood, her face radiates an almost unreal beauty, like CGI.
She feeds the starving cub, and as it regains strength, it licks her hand.
The two quickly bond, and the cub soon grows into an adult bear.
Chae Seoyoon’s appearance in the fur coat felt more grounded than in the Pine Tree version.
Then comes the moment of parting.
The now fully grown polar bear leaves to find a mate.
It swims across icy waters and roams glaciers, but no other bears are to be found.
The bear, seemingly lonely, falls asleep, appearing to think of Chae Seoyoon.
The serene music abruptly stops.
A grand orchestral piece begins as the glaciers quake.
The bear lifts its head, and its eyes reflect a massive spaceship.
Defying gravity, the spaceship hovers silently in midair.
When its door opens, Chae Seoyoon, still in her fur coat, appears, prompting the bear to rush toward her with joy.
The beauty and the bear express their longing, entwined in a warm embrace.
The bear follows Chae Seoyoon into the spaceship.
The spaceship crosses the Arctic Ocean and stops at a massive iceberg.
As the door opens, another polar bear cautiously approaches the spaceship, but its demeanor changes to delight upon seeing Chae Seoyoon.
From the entrance of the spaceship, the first bear watches quietly before running toward the pair.
The two bears sniff each other and embrace with their massive paws.
Chae Seoyoon steps aside, giving them space.
The bears bond, and she returns to the spaceship.
The spaceship departs, presumably in search of another isolated polar bear, as the video ends.
The view count skyrocketed instantly.
Likes and comments poured in, surging rapidly.
Reactions were overwhelmingly positive, with only occasional jealous or hateful comments quickly buried under dislikes and reports.
└Did they actually film this in the Arctic with real polar bears?
└Excuse me, how do I get alien sponsorship for a spaceship?
└Chae Seoyoon’s visuals are insane, seriously.
A comment pinned to the top, receiving overwhelming support, summed up the viewers’ sentiments:
Is this a promotional trailer for Chae Seoyoon’s new movie?
【Current Appreciation Points: 20 million】
Phew, managed to complete it without cutting it too close.
【Quest Completed】
【1 Model Slot Granted】
【Current Slots: 1/3】
【Registered Model: Chae Seoyoon】
Real-life individuals must be registered in the model slot to appear in videos.
On the other hand, creating entirely fictional characters doesn’t consume a model slot, But fictional characters cannot be used as main characters.
At least, not yet.
【Unlock the Unlimited NPC Feature to include fictional characters without restrictions.】
“Geez, that’s restrictive. Why not just allow it outright?”
【This app complies with corporate video production ethics.】
In other words, it’s telling me to gather appreciation points by diligently producing videos that draw in viewers.
“Finally, I meet the monetization requirements.”
Number of videos, subscribers, watch time—
I’ve met the bare minimum.
Now I need to decide on the channel’s direction.
“What’s most important to me right now?”
Obviously, it’s completing the app’s tutorial and unlocking all its features.
Even in this tutorial version, I can produce ridiculously high-quality videos with just a few clicks of the brain.
Comments from people claiming to be industry professionals said that the video featuring Chae Seoyoon and the polar bear would be impossible to replicate, even with the best CGI experts working day and night for at least six months.
Appreciation points increase as more people visit “my space” and watch the videos.
That’s why my current appreciation points equal the total views on my WeTube channel.
【Tutorial Stage 1 Quest Completed】
【Stage 2 Quest Begins】
【Generate a cumulative earning of 100 million won】
【Deadline: None】
So, it’s a quest to venture out and start earning money, huh?
“With 500,000 subscribers, shouldn’t earning 100 million won be a breeze? I heard WeTubers with 500,000 subscribers are like mid-sized companies on legs.”
I’m in an absurdly advantageous position since I don’t spend a single won on production costs.
But now, what kind of videos should I make?
I gained massive popularity with the three Chae Seoyoon videos,
But suddenly shifting to something like sketch comedy would be ridiculous.
After doing some research, I learned that a channel’s identity and direction are even more important than the quality of its videos.
Cooking should stick to cooking, music to music, web comedy to web comedy.
A scattered, directionless channel is a recipe for disaster.
But until a month ago, I’d never even thought about video production.
I’ve never written a script or anything, just occasionally watched hit dramas or movies.
At this point, what’s the most cost-effective way for me to generate revenue with the video app?
【Accepting CGI commissions】
【We promise the highest-quality graphics and quick turnaround times.
Pricing will be negotiated based on client specifications and required production time.】
As soon as I posted the notice, a flood of comments poured in.
All of them were congratulations, encouragement, and well wishes.
└A giant dinosaur stomps into this humble habitat ã„·ã„·ã„·
The kind of comment that makes you instinctively want to hit the like button.
But I held back.

Pinetree Entertainment.
Team 1 Office.
Team Leader Park Sejin was being bombarded with complaints from a close film director.
“I’m really upset. How could you? We agreed that once Chae Seo-yoon’s break ended, she’d star in my film first. I’ve been holding off, fine-tuning the storyboard while waiting!”
“Director Kim, what are you talking about?”
“Don’t play dumb.”
“No, seriously, there’s no project she’s been cast in.”
“Then what’s with this new movie trailer.”
“Movie trailer?”
“Hold on a second.”
Director Kim Jungwon played a video on his phone, and Team Leader Park Sejin was left dumbfounded after watching it to the end.
Kim Jungwon, looking smug, said,
“It’s clearly a promotional trailer for a new film. I haven’t heard about the production starting, so when did you secretly film this?”
“What the…?”
“Looking at how quiet Chungmuro (Korea’s film district) is, it must’ve been an overseas shoot from start to finish. Tight security, huh?”
“This is news to me. Director Kim, give me a moment.”
Team Leader Park Sejin summoned Kim Kyungwook, Chae Seoyoon’s dedicated manager.
“Team Leader, that’s actually a promotional video for polar bear conservation.”
“What? Seriously?”
“Yes. Seoyoon is deeply passionate about polar bear conservation, so she created a non-profit promotional video.”
Realizing what was happening, Director Kim Jungwon’s eyes gleamed.
“So you’re telling me someone made a Hollywood blockbuster-level promotional video purely out of fan dedication?”
“Yes.”
“Who on earth are these people?”
“It’s a WeTube channel….”
After learning about the original channel, Director Kim Jungwon scoured it thoroughly and found something.
“They’re accepting CGI commissions?”
